Module 1 "Creation of autonomous health facilities"

The Conference "Contract based delivery of health care services by autonomous health care institutions: Meeting the challenge of health reform in Ukraine"

21-24 September 2005 in hotel complex "Yalta" will be held the Conference "Contract based delivery of health care services by autonomous health care institutions: Meeting the challenge of health reform in Ukraine".

The aim of the event is to present the concepts, tools and practical procedures related to contracting and setting-up of autonomous units and as example to consider the Pilot's experience. Representatives of all Oblast Health Care Departments and Oblast health care providers and invited to participate n the Conference. After they will be invited to join the training program to be organized and carried out by the project in Kiev, due to start in October 2005.

Training for journalists 'How to use funds for health effectively?"

To provide the broad awareness of Ukrainian mass media representatives about the healthcare reform process in Ukraine and the achievements of EU Project "Health Financing and Management in Ukraine", and in the framework of the Project PR strategy, on October 6 2005, there will be held a training workshop 'How to use healthcare funds effectively?" for journalists who cover the issues of healthcare reform. The expected number of journalists from all-over Ukraine is around 70.

The event will have both informational and training sides, as in its course the issues of health financing and management will be considered, as well as specifics of coverage of healthcare reform issues in mass media.

Ukraine - Romania: Discussion Club

According to the results of the training tour to Romania an agreement on further experience exchange between Romania and Ukraine was achieved and the dialogue between two countries about health reform was continued.

To cover these issues a new section Ukraine - Romania: Debating Club will be made on the Project web-page.

In this section one will be able to find information of the key aspects of health insurance implementation in Romania, articles written by Romanian and Ukrainian experts, etc.

Participants of the training tour to Romania which took place 26 June - 3 July 2005 are welcome to share their impressions of the tour, tell how they use new knowledge in their work and ask Romanian colleagues any questions which might have arisen after their returning to Ukraine.
